Police have arrested a 31-year-old man in an ongoing counterfeit money investigation in Timaru
25 June 2020
They were provided with information from the public receiving counterfeit $50 notes over the past few days.
The man has been charged with possession of forged bank notes and is due to appear in the Timaru District Court next week.
Police aren't ruling out further charges.
They want to remind businesses to be vigilant when taking cash, particularly 50 dollar and 100 dollar notes which have imperfections in their clear window.
