Confidence in Christchurch's football community the city will play a hosting role in the 2023 Women's FIFA World Cup

Confidence in Christchurch's football community the city will play a hosting role in the 2023 Women's FIFA World Cup

FIFA's bid evaluation report shows the temporary Orangetheory Stadium needs significant upgrades to host games - including to floodlights and back-up power infrastructure.

It's understood local officials will meet with FIFA later this year to finalise the work required, and who foots the bill.

Mainland Football CEO Julian Bowden is confident the work will be done.

Christchurch's new indoor stadium won't be built in time for the tournament.
