Hopes there'll be some flexibility from FIFA in ticking off Kiwi venues for the 2023 Women's World Cup

Hopes there'll be some flexibility from FIFA in ticking off Kiwi venues for the 2023 Women's World Cup

A FIFA report says Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch's stadiums all need improvements to floodlights and other facilities to host games.

Dave Beeche worked with FIFA to run the 2015 Under-20 World cup in New Zealand.

He says in Christchurch's case, backup power supply is needed in case of an outage.

New Zealand Football is due to meet FIFA later in the year to run through venue improvements, and who foots the bills.
