The New Zealand Hotel Market Sentiment Survey found 85 per cent want to see more stimulation of domestic travel.
Tourism Industry Aotearoa hotel sector manager Sally Attfield says 50 per cent say the borders must be opened by September at the latest, if they're to remain open for the next 12 months.
She says the industry needs that bubble in order for the market to pick up on the green shoots which are there from the domestic market.
