A woman has been arrested, over an incident that led to a major evacuation in the Palmerston North CBD

The Plaza Shopping Centre was evacuated on June 4, following reports of a threat to a person's safety, and reports of another person having a firearm.

Police claim they received false information.

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

She's due in court this morning.
