    World number six Webb Simpson has rocketed into the lead at the halfway point of the latest PGA Tour event in Detroit


    The American carded an eight under-par 64 to move to 12-under for the tournament, and into a share of the lead with compatriot Chris Kirk.

    Simpson's last win on tour was just two week's ago in South Carolina.

    Kiwi Tim Wilkinson has missed the cut.
