A teenage murderer on the run is bringing back harrowing memories to a Hawke's Bay community

A teenage murderer on the run is bringing back harrowing memories to a Hawke's Bay community

16-year-old Haami Nahara escaped from a South Auckland youth justice facility on Saturday, and hasn't been found.

He's serving a life sentence for the 2018 murder of Flaxmere man Kelly Donner.

Flaxmere ward councillor Henare O'Keefe says there were dark days in the town after the murder.

He says there was anger and frustration, and it certainly cut through the core to the very heart of Flaxmere.
