The Public Service Association's criticising how Auckland Council dealt with announcing further job losses
9 July 2020
The council's planning to cut about 500 jobs, due to the financial impact of Covid-19.
The job losses are part of the savings that must be found to fill a 750-million dollar hole in the council's budget.
Public Service Association national president Glenn Barclay says their members should've been consulted about where savings can be made, before they were told about the job cuts.
He says they haven't been given a chance to talk about other options.
