The NRL club has reportedly been interviewing candidates to replace Stephen Kearney in recent days, but missing from list of interviewees was former Knights and Dragons coach Nathan Brown.

Brown has told the Sydney Morning Herald it's a wonderful opportunity, but it's a role that doesn't fit at this stage.

Roosters assistant Craig Fitzgibbon is another alleged target who has ruled himself out.
