    Penrith great and club director Greg Alexander has countered claims he gave assistant coach Trent Barrett permission to talk to the Canterbury Bulldogs about their vacant job


    Dean Pay resigned this week.

    Alexander, who also works as a Fox Sport commentator, says he rang Barrett to discuss how the situation was playing out.
