Thirty-five million dollars is being invested into a new cycleway in Auckland

Associate Transport Minister Julie Anne Genter has made the announcement ahead of the Government's wider infrastructure package reveal this afternoon.

The money will be used to significantly extend the Te Whau coastal pathway as part of an overall 220 million dollar cycleway package.

She says during our lockdown many more families and kids were out on their bikes, which shows that when our streets feel safe to cycle - people want to ride.

She says cycleways set us on a path to a more sustainable future, and this project will also create new jobs.
