The Independent Police Conduct Authority says an officer's punching a man as he arrested him in Foxton last year, was justified

In February last year, an officer punched a man who was attacking him, after he'd been pulled over for speeding.
The IPCA says it was warranted.
Two other officers who arrested the man, claimed there was further unjustified force, but the Authority couldn't substantiate those claims.
Central district commander superintendent Chris de Wattignar says the officer's actions were proportionate and reasonable in the circumstances.
