Calls to extend mortgage holidays beyond September
28 July 2020
In March, the Government, Reserve Bank and retail banks announced a six-month principal and interest payment holiday for mortgage holders and small business customers whose incomes had been affected by the pandemic.
Century 21 New Zealand Owner Derryn Mayne says extending it is a no brainer.
She says it should be extended at least until the end of the year, to get us through the Christmas period.
The Reserve Bank is actively considering an extension to the scheme.
