A manhunt' s underway - and Auckland police have been left shaken - after officers were shot at last night
7 August 2020
It's the first time officers have faced gunfire since the shooting to death of Constable Matthew Hunt in June.
A police unit signalled a vehicle to stop on Weymouth Road in Manurewa shortly before midnight.
The car took off and the officers gave chase - but gave up when the driver shot at their moving vehicle.
The two offenders are still on the run after dumping their car on Totara Road.
No officers were injured.
