The New Zealand Initiative study shows integrated schools slightly outperform private schools.
Integrated school students between 2008 and 2017 had an average 38.8 per cent chance of achieving University Entrance, compared to private school students at 37.4 per cent.
Policy analyst Joel Hernandez says state school students averaged a 30.5 per cent chance.
He says they want the Education Ministry to use the study to see what's working well at integrated schools - and apply it to all schools.
