Auckland desperately needs rain
Auckland desperately needs rain
10 August 2020
MetService's long range forecast is for an extremely dry spring for the region.
Auckland's already in a water shortage - with 25 per cent less water in dams than this time last year.
Meteorologist Georgina Griffiths says some rain should fall in August - but it won't break the drought.
She says we need rain every one or two days - for three to four months - to solve the deficiency we entered winter with.
