No graduation ceremony for Otago University students this weekend

No graduation ceremony for Otago University students this weekend

Students set to walk the stage on Saturday will now be graduating in absentia - after a last minute cancellation from the University.

A spokesperson says given the community transmission of Covid-19 in Auckland and the rise to Alert Level 2 in Dunedin - this is the only responsible course of action.

They say they feel for their graduands - and their friends and family - at this time.

At this stage, another ceremony planned for August 29 will still be going ahead.
