The World Health Organisation says children over the age of 12 should wear masks.
Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says they'll look at the WHO's advice - but it's targeted at countries which have wide community outbreaks.
President of the primary teachers' union Liam Rutherford says the main priority is ensuring staff and students are in safe environments.
He says at the moment, masks aren't mandatory, so people are sticking to those rules.
Further details around mandatory mask use on public transport at Alert Level Two and above will be announced tomorrow.
