Cabinet meets today to discuss a potential move down the Alert Levels from Monday.
One new case of covid-19 in the community was reported yesterday -- and one in managed isolation.
Professor of Public Health at Otago University, Nick Wilson believes Cabinet should take a long term view.
He says for the sake of people's health and the economy -- it's best to be sure we've eliminated community transmission before moving levels.
Nick Wilson also says masks should be mandatory in workplaces, schools and shops -- for at least a couple of weeks.
