Khing Tiang Wong pleaded guilty in the Hutt Valley District Court today to a charge of dangerous driving causing death.
The 47-year-old struck Brent Norriss with his van, as he was cycling home between Wellington and Petone in February.
Wong's lawyer today gave police a letter from his client, for Noriss' family.
The 65-year-old's death prompted a 600-strong memorial ride to raise awareness for cycle safety.
