Firefighters remain at the scene of a large building fire on Auckland's North Shore

Firefighters remain at the scene of a large building fire on Auckland's North Shore

Eighteen fire crews worked late into the night to contain the blaze, on Triton Road in Rosedale, near Albany.

The fire has been extinguished and Triton Road has reopened, but one fire crew remains at the scene to monitor for hotspots.

Meanwhile, police are at the scene of a suspicious fire, which broke out in a changing room in Pareora, south of Timaru, just before midnight.

Fire investigators are due at both fire scenes this morning.
