World number three Justin Thomas is embracing the challenge of trying to tame one of the toughest course in golf as the US Open gets underway at Winged Foot in New York tonight

World number three Justin Thomas is embracing the challenge of trying to tame one of the toughest course in golf as the US Open gets underway at Winged Foot in New York tonight

Thomas is among the favourites to capture his second Major championship title and insists it will be fun, despite knowing noone will be shooting 15 under and anything in red figures will be in contention.

Kiwi Ryan Fox is in the first group underway at 10-30 tonight.
