    Police are keen to hear from witnesses after a man was shot in Christchurch earlier today


    Emergency services were sent to the scene near Hereford Street at about 2 this afternoon.

    The victim was taken to hospital, where he's in critical condition.

    A scene examination is underway and police are already talking to people about what happened.

    They say there's no ongoing risk to the public.
