Auckland's Harbour Bridge is still in a vulnerable state

Auckland's Harbour Bridge is still in a vulnerable state

Two additional lanes were opened this morning following a successful temporary repair, meaning there's now three lanes in both directions.

NZTA Transport Services General Manager Brett Gliddon says there are no plans to open more lanes until a permanent fix is in place.

He says as far as design calculations are concerned, the temporary strut is only designed for the two extra lanes.

Meanwhile, NZTA says the bus priority lane at the Fanshawe Street on-ramp has been relocated to the left of the on-ramp.

It means the Curran Street northbound on-ramp is open to traffic.
