    A life sentence for a man who killed his daughter in a Bay of Plenty river


    Tewi Daniel Savage, murdered two-year-old Arnica Savage in the Rangitaiki River at Te Mahoe, south of Whakatane.

    He was sentenced in the High Court at Rotorua this morning, with a minimum non-parole period of 14 years.

    In July 2018, Savage held Arnica underwater, leading to her asphyxiation - after walking to the river to calm down after a heated argument with her mother.
