A strict no excuses campaign rolls out today to keep boaties safe in the water

Maritime NZ is teaming up with local harbourmasters to check boaties are abiding by the rules of wearing lifejackets and keeping a safe speed.

Marlborough Harbourmaster Luke Grogan says everyone wants to get out on the water to relax and have some fun after an extremely challenging year.

The No Excuses campaign had four thousand interactions with boaties last year, and there are expected to be more this summer.
