Police cordoned off the carpark of a Salvation Army store in Brown's Bay on Auckland's North Shore last night, following the discovery of a body

It's understood the body is in the back of a vehicle.

Meanwhile, a shop next to a petrol station in the Manawatu town of Sanson has been completely destroyed by fire.

It's been affecting some overnight travel on State Highways 1 and 3 through the area.
