Police are continuing to make enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two people whose bodies were found at Lake Taupo

Police are continuing to make enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two people whose bodies were found at Lake Taupo

An investigation's underway after they were discovered by someone out walking, submerged in the water around 7 yesterday morning.

There are reports a small group of people was drinking and partying in hot pools on the shores of the lake -- 12 hours before the bodies were found.

Police say they are waiting on post mortem examinations to determine the cause of death.
