From record warm temperatures to weather warnings - things are going from one extreme to the other in the South Island

From record warm temperatures to weather warnings - things are going from one extreme to the other in the South Island

Yesterday saw many places reach warm temperatures, with some regions even reaching the mid 20s.

However MetService warns it won't last.

Meteorologist Tahlia Crabtree says wild weather's expected this evening for those on the west coast.

She says there are a number of strong wind watches and warnings in place, especially for the Canterbury high country.

She says later tonight there'll be a front which moves through, bringing heavy rain for those on the west coast.
