Justin Richard Burke, 33, has appeared in the Christchurch High Court today accused of killing Shayne Heappey.
The 25 year old was stabbed and cut 14 times in December 2018.
Burke has denied the accusation, but says he knew the plan to give Heappey a hiding.
It is alleged Heappey ignored repeated requests to settle a 300 dollar debt, and turn over a stolen car to the Nomads' Christchurch chapter president's daughter.
