Jaime King has claimed her two sons have “experienced a great deal of trauma” amid her ongoing divorce from Kyle Newman

This week, the 44-year-old filmmaker filed legal documents requesting primary physical custody of the two sons he has with his estranged wife - James, seven, and Leo, five - as he claimed that the actress has "largely been an absent parent in the minor children’s lives, either away at work in Canada or otherwise choosing to be away from them for weeks and months at a time during the Covid-19 pandemic”

And whilst filing a response, Jaime has hit back at Kyle, accusing him of interfering with her ability to FaceTime her brood.

In court documents obtained by Us Weekly, she wrote: “The boys have experienced a great deal of trauma in the last seven months.”

The 41-year-old actress also denied allegations she has a “drug problem”, and accused Kyle of attempting to sabotage her career.

She added: “In February of 2020, [Kyle] attempted to wreak havoc with my professional life. [He] called at least one of the ex ecutives on Black Summer after midnight demanding information about me.

“[He] had a third party call various people who worked on the show demanding that some action be taken before I ‘killed myself’ with drugs or alcohol. No one on set believed that I had an issue, because I did not (and do not.) In fact, I was on set on time every day, and always professional.”

Meanwhile, in Kyle’s filing, he claimed to have been "the primary caregiver" for the majority of their lives, and said he has been the sole parent for "the large majority of 2020”.

As a result, he's asked the court to grant him "primary physical custody with visitation to Jaime of alternating weekends and one evening per week".

What's more, he's asked the court to impose "monitored supervised visits with the children" and "alcohol testing when the [children] are in her custody".

In the court documents, he alleges that his estranged wife failed an alcohol stipulation test in June, adding that she exhibits "dangerous and erratic" behaviour while under the influence of alcohol.

However, a spokesperson for the ‘Hart of Dixie’ actress - who filed for divorce in May and subsequently claimed to have been a victim of verbal and emotional abuse - was quick to rubbish the claims.
