Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and his wife Lauren Pesce are expecting their first child

The 38-year-old TV star has taken to Instagram to announce the news, revealing their baby is due to arrive in May next year

Alongside a photo of the couple, their dog and the announcement written in flour on their kitchen table, he wrote: "We have a Baby Situation (sic)"

Lauren, 35, also took to social media to share the news.

She wrote on Instagram: "Our biggest blessing is on it’s way (sic)"

And in response to her post, Mike simply said: "It’s happening."

The loved-up couple quickly received congratulatory messages from 'Jersey Shore' cast members, including Deena Cortese.

She said on social media: "So excited for you both! Love you guys so much."

And in response to Lauren, Deena - who is also pregnant - wrote: "Soooo excited for you guys!!! You deserve all the happiness in the world ! Pregnancy buddies (sic)"

Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi was similarly excited by the news.

She said on social media: "LOVE YOU BOTH [praying emoji and love-heart emoji] sooo sooo excited for you! (sic)"

Snooki also offered her support to Lauren.

She told her: "Sooo happy for you my mawma! Always here for you! Call me when your nipples grow the size of a small plate (sic)"

Mike has been married to Lauren since 2018 and he previously hailed his wife for supporting him through "the good times and the bad times".

He said: "We’ve been through so much, and for us to finally get engaged, it’s really special, because it wasn’t guaranteed.

"It’s been very stormy for a while. The odds were against me. People bet against me. But against all odds, she’s been there throughout the ups and downs, the good times and the bad times.”
