Another vote on cannabis is being proposed but this time it's to decriminalise, not legalise the drug

Another vote on cannabis is being proposed but this time it's to decriminalise, not legalise the drug

Wellington Central Young Greens activist Mathew Bouma has put out a citizen-initiated referendum asking whether New Zealand should decriminalise the possession of cannabis for personal use.

Mathew Bouma says he believes a lot of people were torn on how they should vote last time.

He says some people who voted no might not want it to be legalised but also don't want to see people criminalised for minor possession.
