Two people were trapped in a car underneath live power lines after crashing into a power pole near Morrinsville

Fire and Emergency New Zealand were called to the scene near the Piako Road and State Highway 26 intersection soon after 7am.
They had to wait until the power was turned off before rescuing the driver and a passenger.
The outage caused disruption to 74 people, with power restored just after midday.
The driver was reportedly taken to hospital with moderate injuries and the passenger suffered minor injuries.
