After four rounds of the four-day competition, the 50-over Ford Trophy begins today.
The defending champion Auckland Aces are away to Northern Districts in Whangarei.
Wicket keeper Ben Horne says there's no reason they can't defend their title.
In the other games, Canterbury entertains Wellington in Christchurch, while Otago faces Central in New Plymouth.
First ball in all games is at 11am.
