Jordan Nelson was 13 when he murdered Rosemaree Kurth, at her home near New Plymouth in April 2012.
The killer -- who's now 21 - was refused parole earlier this year.
Nelson will be a free man on December 9, subject to strict conditions for five years.
He'll be electronically monitored and banned from owning or using any firearm, explosive or ammunition.
A number of other conditions will continue until mid-2030.
