Regan Gough has strengthened his general classification chances after winning the third stage of the New Zealand Cycle Classic in Martinborough

He's finished ahead of Hayden McCormick who placed second, and Glenn Haden who finished third.

Gough - riding for the New Zealand National Team - says he's never raced the stage before.

Luke Mudgway still holds the yellow jersey.
