Jennifer Lopez will perform at Joe Biden's presidential inauguration

The 'On The Floor' hitmaker is set to join the likes of Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake and Jon Bon Jovi performing at the event on Wednesday, January 20, to mark Joe Biden and Kamala Harris being made President and Vice President of the United States respectively

The event will be televised across multi-channels and Jennifer is the latest star to be confirmed for the event, E! News reports, following news that Tom Hanks will host the show.

Presidential Inaugural Committee CEO, Dr Tony Allen, said of the event: "This inauguration presents a unique opportunity to spotlight the resilience and spirit of an America United.

"We have witnessed countless heroes this past year step up to the frontlines and serve their fellow Americans, so we are telling their stories, spreading their collective light, and celebrating the best of our country and its people with this prime-time program.

"Our first priority is safety - so while many of us will be watching safely from our homes, we are creating real moments of connection that highlight a new inclusive American era of leadership that works for and represents all Americans."

At the time of his victory, Biden promised the country was safe in his hands.

He said: "This moment was one of those do-or-die moments. Had Trump won, I think we would have changed the nature of who we are as a country for a long time."

Speaking after the election results were revealed, Harris added: "We're at a moment where we will be confronted by many crises that have converged.

"We're talking about a public health crisis, we are in the midst of an economic crisis, a long-overdue reckoning on racial injustice, and a climate crisis. We got a lot of things that we need to handle, and we will multitask to address them all."
