Dr. Dre has been released from hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm

The 55-year-old hip hop icon was receiving treatment at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering the brain injury earlier this month

But according to TMZ, Dre was discharged from the hospital on Friday (15.01.21) and sent home, where he will be monitored 24 hours a day by medical professionals.

Earlier this month, Dre had taken to Instagram to update his followers on his condition, when he said he was "doing great".

He wrote: "Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team.

"I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!! (sic)"

Dre - whose real name is Andre Young - has won seven Grammys throughout any illustrious career which has also seen him produce huge tracks for the likes of Eminem, Tupac, Snoop Dogg himself, and many more.

He first burst into the hip hop scene as a co-founding member of N.W.A., and produced some of the iconic group's influential 1988 debut album 'Straight Outta Compton'.

Since the summer, he has been locked in a bitter divorce battle with estranged wife Nicole Young, with whom he has two children, 23-year-old son Truice and 19-year-old daughter Truly.

According to reports, Nicole has been asking for half of Dre's estimated £730 million ($1 billion) fortune.

Nicole has asked for $2 million a month but Dre's lawyer, Laura Wasser told the court her client has been voluntarily paying all her expenses since they split.

And according to TMZ, the documents reveal the producer has been paying for the Malibu estate she's living in, security costs and even has cash delivered by messenger when she wants it and Dre's accountant filed a declaration stating Nicole's actual monthly expenses total $293, 306.

Nicole has also sought $5 million in attorney's fees but her estranged husband said he has already paid close to $1 million voluntarily, even though the divorce documents weren't even filed until June.

The 'Forget About Dre' hitmaker claimed he has paid more for Nicole's lawyers than his own legal team, and said her representatives have sent him a letter claiming they are owed another $1.5 million.

Dre has denied Nicole's allegations of emotional and physical abuse.
