A sensational showing from Tai Webster hasn't been enough to save the Breakers from defeat in game one of their new Australian basketball league season

Webster's scored 34 points, added 11 rebounds and dished up six assists in a 94-91 overtime loss to the Adelaide 36ers.

The visitors had led by 11 points at one stage before giving up the lead in the fourth quarter.

Coach Dan Shamir says it was a good start to Webster's return to the Breakers.
