The Canterbury Magicians have upset the Wellington Blaze at the Basin Reserve, to hand the Super Smash women's favourites their second defeat of the season

The Canterbury Magicians have upset the Wellington Blaze at the Basin Reserve, to hand the Super Smash women's favourites their second defeat of the season

The visitors made light work of the Wellington top order, including taking the key wicket of White Ferns skipper Sophie Devine for just 13 - the only time she hasn't passed 50 this season.

The Blaze limped to 132 for nine, before Amy Satterthwaite steered Canterbury to a nine wicket win with 10 balls to spare.

Satterthwaite finished not out on 71 off 50 balls with Natalie Cox making an unbeaten 48.

The Magicians now just two points off the Blaze on the ladder.

The men's match gets underway shortly.
