Lamar Odom was “a little bit surprised” to hear that ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ is coming to an end

The 41-year-old retired basketball star previously appeared on the E! reality show during his marriage to Khloe Kardashian, whom he tied the knot with in 2009 after just one month of dating before the pair split in 2013 and eventually divorced in 2016

And after it was announced last year that the series – which also spawned a spin-off for the former couple titled ‘Khloe & Lamar’ – would be ending after its 20th season, Lamar has now confessed he was shocked at the news, but wishes the famous family all the best with their future ventures.

Speaking to Us Weekly magazine, he said: “[I was] a little bit surprised. Everything that started has an ending. You know, they have a pretty tight knit family and … I’m pretty sure that they came to that decision together. Of course, at this time, we all know that we really have to do what’s best for us. And if they feel like that’s best for them, then they have my full support.”

Kim Kardashian West, 40, announced the end of her family’s reality show in September last year, when she said the 20th season – which is set to begin in March – will be the show’s last.

She wrote on Instagram at the time: “To our amazing fans – It is with heavy hearts that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’.

“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”

Whilst Khloe, 36, said she was “sad” to be leaving the show behind, but felt it was the right time.

She said: “We get two weeks off a year. It’s exhausting. We’re all in a different place in our lives and some of us need a nap. It’s hard because I’m not good with change, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need a break.”
