The case is linked to the current Auckland event, as a household contact.
They had previously been tested and returned a negative result and had been isolating at home since last Monday.
The person was then transferred to the Auckland quarantine facility on Friday as a precaution.
The Ministry of Health says the public health risk is low, and there are no additional contacts to report.
Meanwhile New Zealand has six new border cases all in managed isolation.
