High jumper Hamish Kerr has revealed his record-breaking leap was off a shorter run-up

High jumper Hamish Kerr has revealed his record-breaking leap was off a shorter run-up

He Fosbury-flopped to a national record of 2.31 metres last weekend in Wellington.

That's two centimetres shy of the Tokyo Olympics qualifying standard.

He's hoping a full run-up at this weekend's Douglas meet in Auckland will generate the extra pep.
