New Paymark figures show the main five days of the outbreak have cost Auckland and Northland retailers about 44-million-dollars.
Retailers in the rest of the country missed out on about six-million dollars in spending.
Auckland Business Chamber chief executive Michael Barnett says the Government's rush to lock down Auckland has put a major dent in both business confidence and in bottom lines.
He says other options, like localised lockdowns, would have had far less impact on businesses and business confidence.
Contact tracing and testing is continuing today, and Papatoetoe High School is undergoing a deep clean.
