David Nyika's adamant he did nothing wrong in his controversial professional boxing debut win over Jesse Maio

David Nyika's adamant he did nothing wrong in his controversial professional boxing debut win over Jesse Maio

Just 29 seconds into the first round, Nyika appeared to strike his opponent towards the back of his head as he ducked.

Maio remained kneeling on the canvas for more than ten seconds, and the judges ruled a technical knockout in favour of the debutant.

Nyika, a dual Commonwealth Games gold medallist, says he's had to defend himself.

Joseph Parker secured a unanimous victory over Junior Fa in the heavyweight bout.
