Praise for early childhood teachers who've gone above and beyond during the pandemic

Praise for early childhood teachers who've gone above and beyond during the pandemic

The New Zealand Education Institute is acknowledging heroes in the sector this Children's Day.

It includes award recipients Sophie Hawkes, who's the Rising ECE Hero and Community Heroes Hayley Strachan and the Moa Kids Team.

NZEI President Liam Rutherford says parents, whanau groups and educators put forward amazing submissions.

He says the response from early childhood teachers through Covid-19 has highlighted they're in the job because they have the best interest of children at heart.
