More than 420 port workers have been given the first doses of their Covid-19 vaccinations in the lower half of the South Island

They include 370 workers from Port Otago, South Port and the international berth at Southland's Tiwai Point aluminium smelter -- and the people giving them their jabs.
Southern DHB Primary Care acting manager Lynette Finnie says the group will start receiving the second dose later this month.
Their household contacts will then start receiving their jabs.
