CoreLogic has found between October and December last year 98.4 percent of the countries residential property's were selling for a profit.
It's the highest rate since 2005.
In Dunedin, Hamilton and Wellington less than one-percent of resales were below the original purchase price.
CoreLogic's senior property economist Kelvin Davidson says the capital is the strongest centre for sellers.
He says there's a lack of listings and higher demand and salaries.
