He committed the crime on a woman at her Newcastle home two-and-a-half years ago.
After three days of deliberating, a jury has found the 33-year-old guilty.

Here's Detective Superintendent Stacey Maloney of the New South Wales police.
Hayne's been granted a 50-thousand dollar bail and will be sentenced on May 6.
